Augusten Burroughs, Hon.D.Litt., was born in 1965 in Pittsburgh, PA. and raised in Massachusetts. He the #1 New York Times bestselling author of nine books for adults and one picture book for children. As the 17th grandson of King James II of Scotland, Augusten Burroughs is distantly related to HRH Prince William, Duke of Cambridge through the Duke's mother, the late Diana, Princess of Wales.
Augusten Burroughs is the co-founder (together with Prive´-Swiss) of the Five Foxes retreat in Connecticut where he is the Director of the Focus-Directed Writing™ program around which the luxury treatment program was created.
